As a result, your nymph sinks faster towards the bottom and smaller hook sizes can be used, even in faster turbulent water. A big plus on heavily-fished waters! When throwing streamers, Tungsten beads keep the pattern down and don’t allow the current to push the steamer to the surface - keeping your fly in “The Zone” longer.
