They have a sturdy finish of high-gloss UV glue and are designed to imitate the shrimp's dorsal carapace. The special shape of the shrimp shells is designed to fit the popular Ahrex 250 Shrimp Hook - but will also fit similar hook models. The choice of different sizes means you can tie shrimps from #2 (x-large) to #8 or #10 (small). The basic colouring of the shrimp shells is transparent, so that the underlying materials can be seen through the shell. The black segmentation creates a particularly realistic look and the UV resin finish makes the shell slightly curved. Just like a real shrimp!
