Gammarus are a staple food for all trout species—not just in rivers, streams, and lakes, but also along the coast in saltwater!
To perfectly imitate these sometimes larger Gammarus, also known as sand hoppers, Pro Sportfisher offers the Gammarus SW Shell Backs. These are a slightly larger and wider version of the standard Gammarus Shell Backs, which can also be easily used to tie imitations of small shrimp-sized crustaceans. The elastic and highly durable backs can be effortlessly wrapped around larger hooks with plenty of dubbing, while still forming a perfect back shape covering half the hook. The back is simply tied in at the front and back and secured with glue or ribbing made of monofilament.
The transparent material of the film ensures a realistic appearance, allowing the underlying material, such as dubbing, to shine through slightly for an impressively natural look.
