OPST sinking tips are the perfect addition for Opst Pure Skagit Commando Heads for single handed, switch and double handed rods. Of course, they can be combined with other shooting heads and ordinary fly lines. Using these sink tips will offer you a high level of flexibility, so you can adapt very quickly to all kinds of situations. The enormous collection of Commando sink tips consists out of different lengths.
The 12 ft. tips are separated into three different sinking rates and are available in three different weights: T8, T11 and T14. Therefore, you can cover every condition ideally. Special about these tips is the combination of two different sinking rates in one leader. Hence, the tip lies ideally in the water and you always have perfect contact to your fly. Instantly feeling a take enables you to set the hook directly.
Sinking rates vary from slow sinking ('Riffle' = 2-3 inch per sec.) over moderate sinking ('Run' = 3-6 inch per sec.) to fast sinking ('Bucket' = 5-9 inch per sec.). We recommend T8 for line classes #2 to #6, T11 for lines classes #5 to #8 and T14 for line classes #7 to #10. All OPST tips have neat loops on both ends, so your fishing and reacting to different conditions can start right away! Specific markings on every tip will prevent you from messing things up. Overall, a very practical and handy addition to all sorts of fly lines and a neat alternative to expensive sinking lines.
