The Loop 'Gyre' represents the new member of the popular Opti reel family - which knows to entertain fishermen around the world with its great design and high level of engineering since years.

The Gyre reel seamlessly closes the gap between the ‘Megaloop‘ and the considerably heavier ‘Big‘ model and therefore embodies the perfect match for double-handed rods and fishing for salmon. Again the developers at Loop chose to feature the Gyre with a closed reel cage, and that is for a reason. Namely, closed reel cages offer superior torsial stiffness making the reel much stronger and avoiding the line/running line from slipping through spool and cage. Both spool and cage of the Gyre reels are crafted from one piece of aircraft aluminum. Additionally all further parts of this reel series are made either of stainless steel or eloxed aluminum and all screws have been sealed with Loc-tite to ensure durability and saltwater resistance.

With a weight of 285 g the Gyre reel nicely balances double-handed rods making it the ideal salmon and steelhead reel. Gyre reels have a high line capacity to hold more than enough backing enabling you to stop fresh silver fish. In order to get all that line back on the reel rapidly the Gyre has been featured with a Large Arbor V-Design spool (diameter 120mm). The powerful, smooth and precise Matrix Drag System which relies on carbon fiber disks and is completely waterproof, saltwater tolerant and hence makes this a great reel not only for fresh water fisheries. Besides, the stylish and large Easy Grip drag knob allows for extremely fine adjustment to smoothly play big fish.
