The popular Evotec series goes into the next generation: The Loop Evotec G5 fly reel! The successor not only follows in the same footsteps, it even goes one better! A very successful facelift, in our opinion.
The fifth generation of Evotec fly reels comes in a similar design as its predecessor, but in a noble, sleek and timeless 'gunmetal gray', which, when paired with Loop's flagship rod, the 7X, is not only a match made in heaven, but can also be perfectly combined with any rod on the market.
With the Evotec G5, Loop again relies on a closed frame design. This is significantly more complex to manufacture, but more than pays for itself with greater stability and torsional rigidity. In addition, it prevents a slipping-out of the leader or jamming of the fly line/running line between spool and cage. Both components were made from one piece of aircraft aluminum. The stability is also increased by the new counter screw on the inside, which also allows an even faster spool change.
Inside the sealed drag core slumbers the same, proven Power Matrix drag system as in Loop's Opti reels. This relies on high-quality carbon fiber discs, 100% waterproof encapsulated and thus absolutely salt water suitable. The grippy, revised drag knob allows a fine adjustment of the brake, which parries through a clean and smooth start-up every escape easily, whether on grayling and trout in the stream, on large salmon in the river, or giant GTs in the tropics.
Note: We think it's especially great that you can combine the new reels with the spools of the previous series, the Evotec G4. So your G4 spare spools will also fit right into the G5 reel frame.
