The second generation of Lamson's Remix fly reel not only brings an optical update but also offers several other advantages: The Lamson have a larger spool diameter and spool core than its popular predecessor. This results in a faster retrieval speed of the fly line and greater practical comfort. The Large Arbor spool design has been adjusted to allow for clean winding, and the drag knob has been enlarged and made more grippable for better control during the fight.
With the Remix-S reel, Waterworks-Lamson combines a CNC-machined aluminum housing made in the USA with a spool manufactured through the aluminum die-casting process. The result is a robust yet extremely lightweight reel, as the cast spool significantly reduces weight, while the brake system sits in a secure aluminum cage, protecting the reel from minor impacts and bumps. The brake system, also from the USA, is assembled and tested by experienced Lamson staff, just like the reel itself. The finished reel is a mix of the budget-friendly Liquid reel and Lamson's top models. This is evident in another aspect, as the Liquid-S fly reel spool is compatible with the Remix-S reel cage. The proven enclosed Lamson drag system of the Remix performs flawlessly, meeting all expectations. Both the startup resistance and constant brake resistance are impressive.
