All Gamakatsu hooks have one thing in common, they are very precisely manufactured and have a great quality. The hook steel a little elastic whereby the hooks are impossible to bend up and also unbreakable.
All the wire sizes are perfectly adapted to the particular model and size. The point of the hooks are super sharp, hook eyes are clean and closed and the very fine barbs are easy to crush. The hook curves are flattened laterally for greater stability.

The F31 is a very nice allround hook with a straight eye. The wire is thin and light, perfect for seatrout patterns or other streamers which will be fished direct under the surface, for example above seaweed which is close to the surface. No panic, this hook is strong enough and will not bent. On the contrary, the thinner wire is even recorded a higher hooking rate, since the hook penetrates more easily into the mouth. The smaller sizes of the F31 is also often used for dry flies because of their very low weight.
