The Croston's Mass Attack from Fulling Mill is not an 0815 imitation of an adult Sedge, but has two special features: First, the superbly buoyant pattern (deer hair wings and parachute hackle from the rooster, thank you very much) has a sighter made of Antron. This allows you to see the fly very well even in low light conditions. Secondly, it has a green abdomen made of foam, which not only contributes to the carrying capacity of the fly, but also imitates the egg-laying of the caddis fly.
This fly is best suited as a 'bite indicator' in a duo setup of dry fly and nymph due to its first-class swimming characteristics (hopper dropper rig).
