Like many success stories, the one of Renzetti began in a small garage, back in the early 1970s in Pennsylvania, USA. Unsatisfied with the tying vises available at the time, Andy Renzetti sat down at the drawing board himself. Not long after, the young visionary launched the world's first true rotary fly tying vise, a milestone for many fly tyers and just the beginning of a company history marked by innovation and creativity. Since then, much has changed and the market for high-quality fly tying products has grown considerably. What has not changed: The high standard for the outstanding quality of Renzetti products. Because today, as then, the family-owned company delivers absolutely well thought-out quality products to demanding fly tyers all over the world. All Renzetti components are still manufactured in the USA.
Tube Fly Vise
Tube flies are nowadays used in a wide variety of applications far beyond classic salmon and sea trout fishing, and quite rightly so, in our opinion. Be it for pike, trout, or even in saltwater for Sailfish, Wahoo and Co. The possibility to change hook type and size, or to quickly replace a blunt hook makes fishing much more flexible. For example, you can offer a short-shanked hook on a long fly profile. However, tying tube flies requires special equipment and especially if you are particularly interested in this topic, a special tube tying vise is highly recommended. This is exactly where Renzetti's Tube Fly Vise comes into play. A well thought-out, application-oriented and durable solution for passionate tube fly tyers.
The locking mechanism is very simple. At the integrated wheel in the rotation arm, the tube needle can be loosened or fixed bomb-proof. Inside the plunger sits a socket that is calibrated to the corresponding needle diameter. Simply slide the plastic or metal tube onto the appropriate needle and insert it into the barrel/socket of the tying vise. Tighten and you're done! Nothing slips anymore, the annoying problem of many separately available tube needles is eliminated.
Three included tube needles cover a wide range of different tube flies. From small no-body tubes to massive pike streamers, you are well equipped. The included sockets assure that every needle size fits perfectly. No wobbling, no slipping!
Of course, Renzetti's DNA is also integrated n the tube binding vise: it's a True Rotary Vise that lets you rotate the tube needle 360 degrees around its own axis with buttery smoothness. The resistance to rotation can be finely adjusted on a handy set screw. This simplifies many tying processes immensely, whether it's creating body ribbing, tying in brushes or creating the perfect body hackle.
The solid, powder-coated base plate and the sturdy 7" (approx. 17.8 cm) long stem made of strong aluminum ensure a secure stand. As we know it no differently from Renzetti, the Tube Fly Vise is also a product of absolute precision work and guarantees a long service life, even with the most intensive use. And another cool feature: The tube fly attachment can be combined with those of the Traveler series!
