The vision of SMHAEN from Denmark and its founder, the well-known fly tyer Stig M. Hansen, is as self-confident as it is crisp: the production of the highest quality tying tools! Tools with functionality and style for fly tyers for whom fly tying is more than just tying flies. The Smhaen Half-Hitch tool is no exception here!
The Smhaen Half-Hitch-Tool is a high-quality tool for the quick and easy knotting of a half-hitch - a typical finishing knot in fly tying. The special feature is that the tool is equipped with an extremely functional, integrated and replaceable knife or cutter. For beginners as well as professional fly tyers, this quality tool offers a quick and easy way to fix the thread and cut it cleanly when finishing the fly. With its large ergonomic diameter, the Half Hitch Tool offers maximum, easy thread control.
For safety and protection reasons, the knife is integrated into the tool. The cutter can be pushed out via the coloured button in the middle of the tool. The cutter is equipped with a spring, i.e. it automatically springs back into the tool so that the sharpness of the blades is maintained for as long as possible. And should the blades ever become blunt, the cutter can be unscrewed and replaced.
As passionate fly tyers, we are thrilled with the noble half-hitch tool from Smhaen! It fits perfectly in the hand and allows fast and precise work. As we are used to from the other tying tools of the Danish manufacturer, the workmanship of this tool is outstanding. And of course it is also a real eye-catcher on the tying table! Available in different sizes (colours) for different hook sizes.
The Large (Green) version is designed for large flies and streamers of sizes #4/0 to #10 and has a tip diameter of approx. 3.6mm.
