The Rotary Hackle Pliers have a rotating and swiveling head that can be handled very precisely and ergonomically when tying with hackles. Especially fine dry fly hackles tend to break under high tension and the additional rotation of the quill. The rotating swivel head prevents this and always points in the direction of the tension so that the hackle is at a 90° angle to the hook. Especially with small dry flies or nymphs a Hechelklemme is a great help, if for example Body Quill is tied, which is difficult to hold with your fingers.
