Your flies deserve the best thread!
No other tying thread has impressed more fly tyers around the globe during the last decade than Nano Silk. This thread by Semperfli (England) is made from ultra fine strands and it's nearly impossible to break it – especially while tying. It's strength and durability is unmatched and all most other GPS/Dyneema threads on the market can't compete with it at all. Before breaking that thread, you'll bend your hook or even break the shank (see video below). No surprise that Nano Silk is today the most popular thread in professional fly ting. Experts like Hans v. Klinken don't use anything else, also because it's available with different diameters (30D, 50D, 100D) and in various colors. You can tie every pattern with Nano Silk, starting with the tiniest dries you can imagine (hook size #18 and much much smaller) up to big predator streamers. Due to its fibrousness Nano Silk can be used for split-thread techniques perfectly.
Nano Silk Ultra 18/0 (30D) is ideal for the tiniest dry flies (#18 and smaller) or any pattern with slim shape. We recommend using a bobbin with ceramic inlay when tying with the super fine 18/0 variation. When you're looking for a allround thread instead, the 12/0 Nano Silk (50D) is your first choice. Just when going for the big boys and you want to tie bulky streamers, we recommend the Nano Silk Predator in 6/0 (100D).
Tip: If you use white Nano Silk you can use permanent markers to color the thread.
