Large Foam Cylinders from Wapsi are ideal for tying poppers, divers and other big flies. These round cylinders made of dense foam can either be cut into slices and pushed over the eye of the hook to finish up your fly or pulled onto the hook shank in the classic way. The versatile material also allows you to cut it into shape with scissors or to design it with greaseproof paper according to your wishes.
When fishing, these Foam Cylinders ensure that your fly generates a lot of pressure under water during stripping. And it is pressure waves that often cause pike and other predators to become aware of our streamers. Streamers with a thin slice of foam as a finishing touch, on the other hand, sink only slowly and can be fished very close to the surface - for example in shallow bays or over grass banks. In short: A versatile material for poppers, divers and various other surface lures.
Tip:
To fix the foam, you can first apply some epoxy to a base of tying thread on the hook shank. The tying material is then only pushed over the eye of the hook and then sits securely in position.
