Tying materials from Wapsi are popular with beginners and tying professionals alike. Already since 1945, Wapsi from Iowa has been the first choice in the USA for a wide range of high-quality materials for all kinds of flies. We especially like to use Wapsi's natural products at the tying table - the Red Fox is no special exception.
Wapsi Red Fox is a versatile natural product that we use for nymphs, dry flies and streamers as well as for salmon flies. The fur of the red fox is characterised by a very beautiful mix of soft undercoat and long, fine hairs. The hair runs out particularly softly and can therefore also be used for filigree patterns. The undercoat makes a nice dubbing for salmon flies, nymphs or dry flies and has a natural light colour. You can also use the Wapsi Red Fox without hesitation for small zonkers or jig streamers. Either cut a whole strip from the fur and tie it on the hook shank or use only the hairs to make the pattern sink even faster.
Founded in Iowa in 1945, Wapsi is one of the most traditional companies for fly tying materials. The beginnings were small and local, but nowadays, this family-owned business offers almost everything a fly tyer's heart desires. From various feathers and furs to rubber legs, wires, and much more. A special feature is also the practical solutions for storing tying threads and the well-thought-out accessories. Despite the high quality of materials, Wapsi has remained true to itself and offers all products at extremely fair prices.
