Wapsi Bucktail Prime Medium

Bucktail has been a universally popular natural hair from white-tailed deer for decades and it is impossible to imagine streamer tying without it. One of the most famous bucktail patterns is the Clouser Minnow, named after its creator Bob Clouser. The number of fish that fell for this pattern alone must be massive.

Bucktail has enjoyed great popularity for decades - and in almost all areas of fly tying! Yet the range of applications for this material is truly impressive, with countless pike, salmon and saltwater predators being caught on bucktail flies around the world. For example, pike tubes displace an incredible amount of water with a bucktail wreath, making them very effective. But it's also hard to imagine the world of salmon fishing without this hair - there are numerous salmon anglers who would never leave home without the so-called "Cascades" and "Ally's Shrimps". Another bucktail classic is the Muddler Minnow a pattern that should not be missing in summer fishing for sea trout, but also in the river for large brown trout!

The Wapsi Bucktail Prime Medium is perfect for the already mentioned flies, Clouser Minnow or Muddler. However, if you are looking for large pike flies, you should go for the Wapsi Bucktail Prime Large, a very long Bucktail in premium quality for tying large or long flies such as the Articulated Hollow Bucktail Streamer.
