Dutch Pike Hair

Pike fishing with flies has been very popular in the Netherlands for many, many years. And many of the traditional Dutch patterns are tied with long, soft natural hairs. One of the best examples is the Dutch Pike Hair, which is very similar to the coat of the Icelandic sheep. These natural hairs have a great, slightly wavy structure, which allows a lot of volume to be brought into the streamer with little material. The natural fur offers a wonderful play in the current and can be used for a variety of different baitfish patterns and predatory fish streamers. With a length of 30 cm it is also very suitable for large patterns.

The Dutch Pike Hair is used by pike expert Peter Elberse from the Netherlands for his Elbi Signature Streamer - for example for the tail. The combination of different shades is perfect for tying imitative streamers. You can add extra accents by adding some flash. A great natural fly tying material that will inspire many predator anglers!

Tip: To get a particularly beautiful taper, the Durch Pike Hair should be brushed out after tying.
