Wapsi Ostrich Marabou

Wapsi Ostrich Marabou is a very universal tying material applicable to numerous fly types and patterns. Ostrich is an extremely popular material due to its vivid, pulsating underwater action. Ostrich marabou can typically be foud in the form of wings and hackles on ‘Spey style’ salmon flies and ‘String Leeches’ which are essential patterns in any steelhead or salmon fly box. Furthermore, Ostrich is great for tying pike streamers and nymphs. Delicate imitations of insect gills and fine gammarus legs can easily and very realistically be tied from these ostrich feathers.

Wapsi Ostrich Marabou is a quality material featuring very flexible stems for easy wrapping and palmering with breakage.

About Wapsi:

Wapsi, founded in 1945 on the banks of the Wapsipinicon River in Iowa by Lacy Gee, is one of the oldest companies for fly tying materials. Originally specialising in the production of artificial flies, within three decades the family business developed into one of the largest manufacturer and wholesaler of tying materials in the United States. Today, Wapsi offers an impressive variety of products for fly tiers worldwide. The range includes a wide selection of feathers, furs, dubbings, rubber legs, wires and much more.
