*1Marabou is a very popular material when it comes to tying streamers. It is extremely easy to work with and it has long, super soft fibres that act very vividly in the water.
These large, high quality Hends Marabou feathers are up to 18 cm long. The upper part of the feather can be used nicely for hackling. Due to a thicker quill, the lower part is ideal for working with a material clamp or the Magic Tool by Marc Petitjean.
After separating the fibres from the quill they can be used as tail, as a classical wing or in a dubbing loop. The last technique leads to very lively flies and is often used for tying steelhead intruders. But, not only steelhead love these flies: our native predators are also addicted to marabou!
Hends represents top-class fly-tying materials and covers nearly all relevant areas. In addition to beads, dubbing, and many other materials, the hooks, in particular, have an excellent reputation. The hooks impress with their sharpness and durability, making them suitable for various applications. However, Hends maintains the highest quality standards not only for hooks but also for all other tying materials. Therefore, the manufacturer has managed to become a prominent figure in the fly fishing scene!
