Partridge is standard material for many classic wet flies and nymphs. When tying wet flies, the soft and playful material is used as wings. One winding of the feather is more than sufficient, so that one feather can be used to tie not only one fly. For nymphs, partridge is used in more versatile ways. On the one hand it is an excellent material for tails as in a mayfly larva or a stonefly, but also for legs and wings. Even small jig streamers or mini Wooly Buggers succeed perfectly with partridge feathers and should be tried especially at the beginning of the season.

Hareline started in 1981 in a private kitchen and has grown over time into a large company with nearly 1,700 square meters of production space. Based in Oregon, USA, the company now produces and distributes thousands of products that fly tyers around the world appreciate. Dubbing, in particular, has earned a place in many tying desks, but the remaining materials and accessories also impress with quality and a fair price.
