Ripple Ice Fiber by Hareline is a long-fiber synthetic material that can be used in many ways on the vice. Due to its length of 10 - 12 cm, the Ripple Ice Fiber works great as dubbing (e.g. in a dubbing loop) for bulky streamer, or to complete the streamer with a nice head. Slightly shortened you can also use the Ripple Ice Fiber to design the bodies of salmon or steelhead patterns as well as various flies for sea trout fishing (e.g. shrimp patterns). Individual fibers are even suitable as tails or wing sheaths for nymphs, or as ribs for dry flies and other smaller patterns. Among salmon fishermen, this material is also very popular in patterns used for swinging, giving every tube an eye-catching look. But beware: less is often more! The flashy fibers reflect extra light due to their special structure and design.
The wide choice of stimulating colors and the mix of imitative tones create endless possibilities. A great, flashy material that is essential in any complete tying collection.
Hareline started in 1981 in a private kitchen and has grown over time into a large company with nearly 1,700 square meters of production space. Based in Oregon, USA, the company now produces and distributes thousands of products that fly tyers around the world appreciate. Dubbing, in particular, has earned a place in many tying desks, but the remaining materials and accessories also impress with quality and a fair price.
