Electric dubbing is a long-fibered synthetic material that can be used in a variety of ways on the tying vise. Due to its length the dubbing can be used for voluminous streamers (e.g. by means of loop technique), among other things to finish the streamer with a nice head. You can also use it to create the bodies of salmon or steelhead patterns as well as various flies for sea trout fishing (e.g. shrimp). Individual fibers can even be used as tails and backs of nymphs or as ribbing for dry flies and other smaller patterns. Among salmon fishermen, this material is also very popular as a rocker and adds an eye-catcher to any tube.
But be careful: Less is often more! Because the fibers have a very strong color and almost seem to glow. It is equally ingenious to mix the material with a soft tone, such as white or tan to achieve an irresistible blend.
