Chenille is a universal tying material and is commonly used to form nice bodies - whether for nymphs, wets, streamers or for many different saltwater patterns. The material is made from fine synthetic fibers which are twisted around a thread core. This is why Chenille is so durable yet flexible and can be turned around the hook shank easily.
Ultra Chenille Standard by Wapsi is ca. 2mm in width and comes with a total length of ca. 4,5m. Due to the perfect diameter this material can be used for a lot of different patterns, e.g. the famous ‚Montana‘ or ‚Wooly Bugger‘. At the same time Chenille can be used for knotted bodies, for example on a big Stonefly larva. Many Bonefish and Permit patterns look great with a body of Chenille too. Wapsi offers a wide range of colors to tie imitative and attractive flies.
