The Traper Concept Sea Trout Rod is specially designed for the discerning fly fisherman targeting sea trout and other species in harsh saltwater environments. The rod is optimized for long, effortless casts under challenging conditions. The fast, crisp action of the rod and the slightly longer 9.6-foot blank are particularly beneficial for deeper wading.
The blank is made from high-quality 40+46T carbon, known for its strength and dynamism. The unpolished blank ensures excellent tensile strength and a consistent, even bend throughout the length of the rod. Despite its parabolic action, the blank features a fast recovery speed that efficiently accelerates the line, allowing for effortless casts over impressive distances. For even better performance, super-lightweight Pacific Bay snake guides are used, which reduce friction with thicker lines or shooting heads and also support casting performance.
The rod sections are joined by professionally made spigot fittings, guaranteeing perfect and uniform action. The handle area is covered with Portuguese AAAA cork, while the reel seat is CNC-machined aluminum with a double-locking nut and finished with an exotic wood insert.
For secure transportation, the rod comes in a Cordura rod tube with separate compartments. Additionally, Traper offers a five-year service warranty on all Concept rods, providing confidence and long-term satisfaction.
