Taylor Fly Fishing always stands out with special designs and colors of the well-known reels. So it was only a matter of time until a colored rod is added, which makes us very happy, because not many manufacturers play with the idea of also using a flashy color, as a finish of a state-of-the-art rod.
The Taylor Fly Fishing Phenom MII is a cherry red fly rod that catches the eye and is also a real all-rounder. The Phenom MII has a progressive, medium fast action, this makes it possible to use the rod for a particularly wide range of fishing! In the smaller classes up to class 6, it is an ideal rod for dry fly fishing, fishing with the nymph and for streaming for trout or perch. The rod charges optimally in the whole blank, so that both an accurate presentation, but also the firing of heavier streamers is possible. In the smaller classes, another component catches the eye besides the color, and that is the engraved reel seat made of a textured wood that perfectly matches the rest of the rod.
The higher classes of Phenom MII are the perfect rods for hunting pike, bonefish, up to tarpon. The deep loading rods have no problem delivering high amounts of line and wet streamers to maximum distances, so casting with the rods is an experience regardless of the target fish. In addition, the rods from a class #8 have a Fighting Butt and a Carbon Fiber reel seat.
The reel seats of the rods are each equipped with two lock nuts, which securely fix the reel to the rod and make it impossible for the reel shoe to come loose while fishing. The high quality AAA cork is very nice in the hand and also the shape of the handles was chosen optimally. As a visual finish and of course to strengthen the durability, the handles were provided with a rubber cork finish, which is slightly harder than the normal cork - this is a plus for both the appearance and the quality!
No corners were cut on the MII's rigging either, and silver hardcrome snake rings were used, which match the rod very nicely. The guide rings of the rod are also very robust and the extremely smooth SIC ceramic inserts favor the shooting of the lines immensely.
The Phenom MII from Taylor Flyfishing is a high quality, modern rod with a limitless range of uses. The medium-fast action of the rod allows it to practice any type of fishing and perform excellently in it. If you are looking for an all-round rod for many different situations, lines and types of fish, the Phenom MII is another very good option! The cherry red color of the rod is also a real eye-catcher and with the right reel really brilliant combinations are possible!
