G.Loomis Asquith Single Handed Fly Rod

Fly rods from Gary Loomis (G.Loomis) have an excellent reputation worldwide - and that since many, many years! Quite a few models of the American rod builder enjoy absolute cult status today. This is hardly surprising, because at G.Loomis one hundred percent fishability meets high-quality workmanship, the best components and timeless design. Exactly what discerning fly fishers are looking for! In the long success story of G.Loomis ranks the legendary Asquith as the absolute flagship model at the top of the rod podium - both in fresh or salt water.

The Asquith series from G.Loomis is the compelling result of the closest collaboration in design, material and manufacturing techniques on a global scale. The blanks of the Asquith fly rods are based on Shimano's patented Spiral X technology, in which two carbon-impregnated tapes (infinity tapes) are wound in opposite directions around the graphite mandrel. This technology makes it possible to reduce material and weight while minimizing vibration, thereby dramatically reducing the swing weight during casting. The power transmission is thereby significantly improved with an even thinner and lighter blank. What does this mean for the angler on the water? An even lighter and, above all, finer rod that allows more precision for accurate presentations in the lighter classes, while the high power reserves in the blanks of the higher classes make efficient and effortless casts possible even in adverse conditions without losing precision. Less effort on the cast means you can fish longer focusing on what's important, your target fish.

The Asquith, designed by multiple casting world champion Steve Rajeff, combines technical progress with traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The freshwater series not only convinces with its fine rod action, whereby a fast recovery speed and a reactive tip allow incredible precision, it also scores on all length with its attention to detail. Titanium SiC stripping guides and flexible titanium Recoil snake guides, as well as a custom reel seat with eco-friendly bamboo insert not only contribute to the chic appearance but are functional building blocks that contribute to the convincing overall performance of the rod. Because bottom line is, that G-Loomis has fully succeeded with the Asquith as one of the lightest and most powerful rods on the market, which convinced us from the very first cast - both in short, targeted casts, as well as in distance casting.
