The core of this new system is the ArcticSilver Switch-Flex universal handle, which is compatible with all new Switch-Flex fly rods. Whether it’s a light trout rod or a heavy pike rod, any blank can be quickly and easily screwed into the new Switch-Flex handle. You can even choose your preferred end cap or fighting butt, as each handle comes with three different options—from a small end cap to an extended butt. The Switch-Flex handle is made from a high-quality carbon composite (40% carbon) for extreme strength and lightweight performance, combined with marine-grade silicone for a secure grip and long-lasting durability, even in saltwater. The reel seat is made from lightweight 6061 aluminum and is Type 2 hard anodized to withstand the harsh conditions of saltwater environments.
The individual high-quality components are protected by a practical case that keeps the contents safe and can be attached to the rod tube. Another advantage of the detachable handle is that multiple fly rod blanks can fit into one rod tube, which is an excellent benefit when traveling!

First of all, the Norwegian manufacturer ArcticSilver is known for a truly innovative range of fly rods. All of these rods have one unique feature in common: the so-called Free-Flex-System including the Quick-Lock reel seat. This patented design allows the blank to swing inside the handle, which creates outstanding casting and fish fighting properties. In fact, ArcticSilver offers many different models that are suitable for a variety of different fly fishing disciplines – whether casting delicate dry flies for trout or massive streamers for large predators. In addition, ArcticSilver also presents a large selection of modern fly lines that have a very thin diameter due to their so-called Micro Diameter (MD) design.
