The TR Spey double hand rods of the 2017 ECHO rod line up are versatile Spey rods that feel comfortable in any Spey casting discipline. The TR Spey rod series has been provided with a medium-fast action which is leaning towards a faster action rod (medium-fast+). The butt-section of the TR Spey has plenty of power to punch out heavy lines and weighty flies. The lighter tip helps to initiate casts. Tim Rajeff, rod designer at ECHO Flyfishing, put alot of emphasis on producing a rod that feels at home at the whole range of spey casting techniques. This is why you will probably agree that the TR is the ideal rod for both short Skagit lines, heavy sinkers and flies but also when fishing Scandi style lines and more classic, lighter flies. So the TR Spey will give very great results when casting sustained-anchor-Skagit style and 'touch and go' Scandi styles. Hence, if you are looking for a versatile rod to be able to adjust to the fishing conditions and max out the full potential of Spey casting, the ECHO TR Spey is the right tool for you!
TR Spey rods are available in the line classes #3 to #8 and therefore cover the whole range between trout-, sea trout and stealhead/salmon fishing. The TR Spey rod blanks are between 11ft and 13,6ft long and present themselfs in army green. The chrome snake guides and low friction ceramic stripping guides are wrapped in green and have orange trim wraps.
The line classes #3 and #4 have been developed for trout fishing. These so called TR Spey Trout are the ideal rods for presenting heavy streamers and nymph rigs to trout when room for casting overhead is limited. Thus, the TR Spey trout can be a great alternative for single hand trout fishing or in case you simply love Speycasting!
