With the Gravity series, CND introduces a new generation of advanced fly rods. With a wide range of different models, it not only covers the entire spectrum of modern river fishing for salmon, sea trout, and steelhead, but also competition two-hand casting. In many ways, it sets new standards—even on the winner's podium.
The CND Gravity Competition Rods are the result of CND's continuous development. They are based on the great designs of Nobuo Nodera and Geir Hansen, and this time Jarle Strandberg was also involved in the process. In other words, a wealth of competitive expertise has gone into the development and design of this rod.
The outstanding performance of the Gravity two-handed rod is based on the combination of the proven Bias Versa technology with the so-called Nano Pitch technology. This innovative process allows the use of extremely thin layers of high-end Japanese carbon fibers. This enables significantly more individual layers of carbon fibers to be interconnected multi-directionally. This makes the Gravity lighter and even faster than previous rod series from CND—without compromising on durability. Nevertheless, it offers the demanding caster the characteristic "CND feeling" of a very deep-loading rod with high recovery power. Thanks to its fast action with extremely powerful casting properties, this powerful "casting machine" enables record-breaking line speeds, resulting in incredible casting distances. At the fishing waters, but especially at the casting pool, where the CND Competition rods have already been rewarded multiple times with top placements for their excellent performance.
Gravity rods offer a unique feeling of line control, flexibility, and power that you just have to experience. In particular, Gravity competition rods are powerful tools that, like every other CND rod, adapt to the line being used. This is necessary to utilize the full power of the rod for the longest casts and is part of CND's recipe for success.
In terms of their features, the Gravity rods are also unbeatable. Here, the developers at CND have naturally made no compromises. Your line glides almost frictionlessly through the high-quality Fuji stripping guides and the lightweight stainless steel snake guides. And a stylish ALPS reel seat keeps your reel securely in place. Speaking of holding: The ergonomically shaped two-handed handle made of high-quality cork also gives the Gravity a fantastic feel that leaves nothing to be desired. Depending on the discipline and casting requirements, the CND Gravity Competition is available in three different models:
- CND Gravity Competition 15' C1
This is the rod for everyone who wants maximum power for extreme casting distances. We have a feeling that with this rod, casts over 70 meters will soon be recorded.
- CND Gravity Competition 15' C2
A little "softer" than the C1, with a slightly softer butt section. Still plenty of power for very long casts.
- CND Gravity Competition Rod 18'
This rod shows what is possible with Gravity material and high-quality rod design. It's hard to believe that such a long, light, and thin rod can have so much power and casting potential. Casts of 80 meters are up for grabs!
In short: The CND Gravity Competition two-handed fly rod is an incredible casting monster. And its name is truly fitting because when casting, it seems to defy gravity in a magical way. It combines excellent casting performance with premium components and top-notch craftsmanship. That's why the world's best two-handed casters currently rely on these three competition models to compete with the best of the best.

Bias Versa Technology:
Conventional rod blanks usually consist of only one or at most two layers of carbon fiber. In contrast, all blanks from CND with Bias Versa technology consist of at least four layers of high-end Japanese carbon fiber. The so-called Nano Pitch technology allows the use of extremely thin carbon fiber layers with a thickness of only 0.5 mm. This allows significantly more individual layers to be used to build up the blank. These are combined multi-directionally using the latest techniques. This complex and expensive construction method results in exceptional casting performance and extreme durability. Despite their lightness, these fast rods have a very powerful, deep-loading action and high recovery capability.
