This offers several advantages for fishing: it allows for significantly faster line retrieval and prevents line coiling, thanks to the larger storage diameter – a great benefit, especially for monofilament running lines! The second ingenious feature is the clicker on this reel, which works by a pin pressing on a gear to create the clicking sound in both directions. While this is a common feature in other reels, the Obsession allows you to move the pin, enabling you to turn the clicker on or off. So, if you don't want to reveal that you've already hooked your first salmon in the pool early in the morning, you can simply turn off the clicker.
