The reel makers at Orvis have given the classic Battenkill a modern look and completely overhauled its drag system. The significantly stronger drag is based on the tried-and-tested Hydros SL and is now fully encapsulated. Made from carbon fiber and stainless steel, the drag system will reliably support you during the fight for years to come. The smooth-running drag is finely adjustable and has plenty of power to prevent even large predators or salmon from escaping.
The Orvis Battenkill Disc fly reel is made of 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum and is therefore lightweight yet robust. As with its predecessors, it is easy to switch from right-handed to left-handed operation. The timeless, classic reel has a slim design, which is particularly suitable for lighter stream rods. The disc fly reel has a perforated front and back for further weight savings and, above all, for the sake of its ingenious appearance. A timeless design meets high-quality workmanship and sophisticated technology.
A new design, a technically sophisticated drag system and an affordable price! We like the new Orvis Battenkill Disc all round!

One of the most traditional brands in the world of fly fishing is undoubtedly Orivs. Founded in 1856 by Charles F. Orvis in Vermont, the American company is one of the most influential and trusted in the scene. From fly rods and reels, to lines, accessories and to apparel, Orvis has the right gear for every situation. We especially like Orvis' commitment to conservation. The company has already donated over $20 million to conservation efforts over the past 25 years - an important contribution to preserving the nature we all love.
