Loop OPTi Rapid Fly Reel

The loop Opti Rapid represents the new member of the popular Opti reel family which ever since knows to entertain fishermen with its great design and high level of engineering.

The Opti Rapid reel seemlessly closes the gap between the light ‘Dry Creek‘ and the heavier ‘Runner‘ reels and therefore perfectly matches with class #5 to #6 rods and fishing for trout and grayling. Another great application for the Opti Rapid reel is balancing long euro-nymphing rods. These 10ft to 12ft long rods often times ask for slightly heavier reels than suggested by the rating of the rod due to the long leverage. Thanks to its high line capacity (width 25mm) and diameter (105mm) of the spool, the Opti rapid has a fairly fast line retrieval and is highly recommended for coastal sea trout fishing too, where line retrieval helps to fight big silver fish leaping through the air and swimming towards you. Not to mention the powerful, smooth and precise Matrix Drag System which relies on carbon fiber disks and is completely waterproof, saltwater tolerant and hence makes this a great reel not only for fresh water fisheries. Besides, the stylish and large easy grip drag knob allows for extremely fine adjustment to smoothly play big fish.

Again the developers at Loop chose to feature the Opti Rapid with a closed reel cage, and that is for a reason. Sure, closed reel cages are more complicated to manufacture. However, they also offer superior torsial stiffness making the reel much stronger and avoids the line from slipping through spool and cage. Both spool and cage of the Opti reels are crafted from one piece of aircraft aluminum. All further parts of this reel series are made either of stainless steel or eloxed aluminum and all screws have been sealed with Loc-tite.
