The completely redesigned Zane Carbon has been developed for tough use in (tropical) saltwater and is particularly impressive in three respects: The reel has an impressively low total weight, combines elements of carbon and aluminum to a modern design and has an improved brake system that works with at least 10lbs+ power even in the lower classes.
Visually the Hardy Zane Carbon is an absolute eye-catcher. The reel has a very open design which has a positive effect on the weight - without reducing the necessary stability. This is also due to the six carbon struts running from the edge of the spool to the brake knob, which in combination with colored markings also serve as an orientation for the adjusted brake force. This way you can immediately assess the actual pressure on the leader and fish during the fight with a quick look at the reel. The large brake knob can be moved on a total radius of 340 degrees in a predefined grid. This allows you to adjust the brake force quickly and precisely. To protect against harmful saltwater and finest sediments, the revised Hardy Multi-Pad brake system is completely sealed. However, as with any other fly reel, we recommend that the Hardy Zane Carbon be rinsed briefly under freshwater after daily use in (tropical) salt water. Better safe than sorry!
