Rio Elite Switch Chucker Floating

With the RIO Elite Switch Chucker, even really big streamers and flies are still fun to cast! The 7.6 m short head efficiently load modern switch rods. The only important thing is that you are in the loading zone. For visual recognition, Rio has conveniently colored it orange. Simply strip it in until it reaches the tip ring and then fire with one cast. It doesn't matter what style you choose. The chucker line delivers in both skagit and scandi styles! The short 7.6m head also transports heavy zonkers with ease. The short head of the line transports heavy flies with ease, of course, but it is also ideally designed to cast indicators and nymphs. Due to the compact head of the line, it is possible to add a Polyleader or a MOW Tip to bring the fly underwater even in strong currents. Whether Skagit, Scandi or the classic roll cast, casting with the RIO Chucker is a pleasure!

With the Switch rod you are ahead of a single handed fly rod in many situations. For example, when wading in the river with a bank behind you, you can cast to the far side without getting caught in the tree behind you with the streamer.

By the way, lightweight switch rods are also very good for nymph fishing. The length of 10 - 11 ft offers you excellent line control for ending and guiding the line. Rio delivers the right line here with the Switch Chucker.

 Rio Technology:

  • Slick Cast
The name says it all! With this new technology, Rio has really shaken up the fly line market. Rio itself advertises it as the smoothest coating on the market. Shootability, noise minimization and longevity of the line are improved. We ourselves found the lines so smooth that we had to rein ourselves in a bit at first to avoid overshooting the metaphorical mark. So we can subscribe to Rio's claim.
  • ConnectCore Plus
The low-stretch braided core gives you ultimate control over your fly. The braid is strong and smooth in equal measure, and even in icy conditions, the line will stay absolutely curl-free. The stretch is reduced by about 30% compared to other lines, so even at long distances every little tug arrives at the end of your leader. On the water, this means better bite detection and output, and even more controlled fly handling.
