Rio's Elite Leviathan fly line is Rio's strongest saltwater line and features a very hard coating that withstands heat and an ultra-strong core inside. It is designed to stop the most powerful and largest hunters of the tropical seas.
The Rio Elite Leviathan fly line is built on an ultra-strong low-stretch core that has to withstand a lot and pass even the long distance strike assertively. The coating of the Leviathan is extremely robust, so that even small contacts with the rocks or corals are no problem. In addition, the Leviathan also has the popular and above all proven Slick Cast Coating. A very smooth and durable surface, which provide an enormous shooting performance. The head of the Leviathan is designed to load even the heaviest saltwater rods efficiently and quickly. This means as much as, the line has real steam forward! Responsible for this is one the approximately 2.5 m long, short body with the most weight in the head. The body then transitions into a sink tip, which has a different sink rate depending on the line strength. This super compact and strong body of the Leviathan transports even huge flies and poppers with ease.
Rio Technologies:
- Slick Cast
The name says it all! With this new technology Rio has stirred up the fly line market properly. Rio itself promotes it as the smoothest coating on the market. Shootability, noise minimization and durability of the line are improved. We ourselves found the lines so smooth that we had to rein ourselves in a bit at first to avoid overshooting the metaphorical mark. So we can subscribe to Rio's claim.
- DirectCore
Low-stretch braided core for saltwater lines gives you ultimate control over your streamer. The braid is strong and supple in equal measure, even in hot conditions the line offers unrestricted performance. The stretch is reduced by about 30% compared to other lines, so even at long distances the hook can be set immediately.
