*1The Phantom Tip Tarpon fly line from Monic is a line for warm saltwater fishing, with a head that is especially designed to simplify the hunt for a Silver King. That's because the line's construction is such that you don't need many faul casts when the fish come within casting distance. The first 19 ft of the line has the largest cross-section and therefore the most weight. This loads the rod incredibly fast in conjunction with the smooth coating, so you get to the fish quickly and at best have more than one shot before the fish move on. A reartaper and 9 ft long handling section of line, provide maximum control in the cast when the head is outside the rod tip and provide the grip needed when it comes to the final double haul and shooting of the line.
The coating of the Phantom Tip fly line is made of a very smooth and texture-free coating, which provides maximum distance. In addition, the coating with its low friction ensures that it slips through the rings as if by itself and, in conjunction with the aggressivehead, only a few faul casts are needed to load the rod for a new "shot". This is especially important when saltwater fishing for bonefish, permit and tarpon because often the fish don't stay in the casting area for long. Once the fish is spotted, it's time to get the fly out fast! This is exactly what the Phantom Tip does. The head is not only aggressive and loads the rod lightning fast, it also has a highlight that 15 ft Phantom Tip. A transparent part of the line that provides minimal scaring of the fish. Fishing in saltwater often means crystal clear water and shy fish. Once a fly line with bold colors lands too close to the fish, it's often the end of the line for that moment. The Phantom Tip line, on the other hand, is hardly noticeable in the clear water and the fish are not disturbed on their prey run when the line lands on the water or crosses paths. A real advantage!
The core of the line consists of a low-stretch braided core, which provides maximum bite detection and its utilization. The core even directs careful, sensitive bites directly to your fingertips, so you won't miss a fish. Thanks to the low-stretch braid, the subsequent strip strike also sits with a high probability!
In short: The Phantom Tip Tarpon fly line is a saltwater line for warm water fishing, which provides by its aggressive head for a very easy shooting of the line. Few faul casts bring the line to extreme distance and unerringly to the Silver-King. The clear tip of the tip ensures that the fish are not distracted by the line and continue their prey undisturbed. A strong, low-stretch saltwater core of the line ensures optimum bite detection and an assertive strip strike. You can't get more benefits in one line!
