Vision Merisuola Fly Line

The number of european fly fishermen heading to the tropics or other saltwater destinations worldwide is growing rapidly. No surprise, cause the strength and power of bonefish, permit, tarpon and other species are unmatched. And although beeing located in Finland, Vision was one of the first brands in Europe developing fly gear for the special needs of saltwater fishing. Two years ago they initiated the 'Pass me the salt' project and created a new saltwater series: Merisuola (fin. 'sea salt').

Hand in hand with the premium Vision Merisuola Single Handed Fly Rod comes a all-purpose fly line to target all relevant saltwater species. The line has been tested two years in cooperation with guides and professional fly fishermen worldwide under the most harsh conditions. It offers a reverse compound taper, which means the lines profile shows a short front taper and a longer rear taper. The head length is 12,8 m, not too aggressive but short enough to cut through the wind without ease. Your rod will be loaded instantly, so that you can within seconds have a shot at the giant Tarpon rolling in front of your boat or the gang of GT messing up baitfish in the shallows. At the same time the length is just perfect for long and precise casts on the flats, serving smaller flies to spooky bonefish.

The Merisuola fly line features a slick and stiff coating, very important for the tropic heat. Its low stretch core supports setting the hook via strip strike and transfers casting energy better. The head comes in a light blue color whereas the runningline is orange, so you'll never miss the right moment shooting the line against the horizon :)

Besides beeing tested in saltwater to the bone, this line performed also great while fishing for pike or salmon!
