The Competition Euro Nymph Braid Core DT by Cortland is an ultra-thin Double Taper line primarily designed for modern nymph fishing. Due to its slim diameter of 0.55 mm, it is particularly well-suited for presentations in the style of extended line nymphing, often collectively referred to as 'Euro Nymphing.' The taper runs very smoothly on both sides in the last 5.2 meters. The advantage of such a thin line in nymph fishing is evident: when the rod is lifted, the line belly is minimal, ensuring maximum drift control and very precise bite detection. Paired with a Euro Nymph leader, you get a setup perfectly equipped for ultra-fine nymph fishing in streams and rivers.
Although this line is optimized for delicate nymph fishing, you can also use it for very delicate dry fly presentations at short distances due to the Double Taper design. Provided you are fishing with a lightweight rod! The discreet presentation is further supported by the green color of the coating. The braided core made of a nylon multifilament in this Braid Core version feels particularly supple and allows for an extremely gentle presentation.
