The nylon boasts an average of 48% better wet knot strength, higher abrasion resistance, and a perfect balance of elasticity and suppleness. A remarkable 18 years of development have gone into this monofilament. As a result, Orvis can now proudly claim that no other leader material on the market matches the impressive breaking strength of the Super Strong Plus. Independent tests, both in the lab and on the water, have confirmed its strength. In practice, this means you can fish with thinner tippet sections. This is especially critical when fishing dry flies for selective fish, where the diameter of the tippet can make all the difference. Now, you can confidently fish a lighter strength without worrying about that big rising brown trout breaking your leader.
The leader spools have also been completely redesigned. An integrated cutter allows for quick and precise cuts exactly where you need them. Additionally, the spools can be stacked together thanks to a click system. A rubber band with details about the leader strength keeps the nylon neatly wound on the 30-meter spool and helps you quickly find the right tippet.
