Deceiver X 9ft Leader
The knotless tapered Deceiver X fluorocarbon leaders are made of 100% fluorocarbon. These drawn leaders have a special taper that allows clean presentations even in strong winds and with weighted or bushy fly patterns - whether dry fly fishing for trout and grayling or sea trout on the coast.
Like any other FC, Umpqua's fluorocarbon has two major advantages: Firstly, FC has a comparable refractive index to water. This means that FC leaders are almost invisible in water. In crystal-clear waters, it often has an edge over conventional nylon (monofilament) leaders. Secondly, fluorocarbon sinks slightly, while nylon floats on the surface. For this reason, and also due to its higher abrasion resistance, FC is often used where rocks or other structures pose a threat during the fight.
