The Hanak Bicolor Indicator Sighter is the perfect addition to any Euro Nymphing leader. When using nymphing techniques with a tight line approach (e.g., French Nymphing), traditional strike indicators on the water surface are not used because they unnaturally accelerate the nymph's free drift near the bottom. Instead, sight aids (so-called "sighters") that do not support the weight of the nymph are used. Strikes are detected thanks to specific rigs, leaders, and sensitive rods (#2 - #4).
This sighter by Hanak enhances the observation of the leader and drift during Euro Nymphing—a collective term for these nymphing techniques. The monofilament is dyed to ensure optimal visibility against various backgrounds when hanging in the air. It alternates colors every 40 cm (pink/chartreuse), which are highly fluorescent, and can be cut to the desired length from the 30 m spool. This popular sighter material is available in different diameters, allowing you to build your leader perfectly tailored to your needs. As usual, you can insert a small tippet ring between the tippet and sighter for a secure connection or use a perfection loop. Depending on water levels and target fish, you can choose the following tippet made of fluorocarbon or nylon.
A typical setup looks as follows: nymphing leader (12 to 30 ft.) + 30 cm sighter + 150 to 200 cm tippet
