RIO Elite Skagit Pickpocket Shooting Head S3/S5/S7

The RIO Elite Skagit Pickpocket Shooting Head is the ideal choice for all fly fishers who want to get their fly deep quickly and slow down their swing. A compact shooting head for the popular Skagit casting style, it is highly efficient not only for steelhead fishing but also for salmon in Europe. With a length of only 20 ft. (6.1 m), this shooting head combined with a powerful taper offers the perfect solution for effective casts in restricted backspace. The short length of the Elite Skagit Pickpocket Shooting Head from Rio also makes it easy to lift at the end of the swing - the best preparation for a clean next cast.

The powerful taper of the RIO Elite Skagit Pickpocket Shooting Head is based on the model of the Elite Skagit Max Power shooting heads, resulting in a clean turnover of heavy sink tips and bushy flies. These shooting heads offer you the perfect system for casting heavy sink tips and efficiently diving into the water column when fishing at the bottom is of utmost importance. All heads feature RIO's innovative Multi Density Control - a seamless blend of three different densities that removes the hinge point from head to sink tip. This ensures a smooth energy transition when casting and provides you with the best depth control. With the ability to bypass turbulent surface currents and slow down the fly's swing, these sinking heads achieve maximum control compared to a floating head configuration.

Rio Technologies:

  • ConnectCore Plus: The Rio Elite shooting heads from the GameChanger series come with a ConnectCore Plus core, which has virtually no stretch. This makes bites much better and faster to detect, hook sets more effective, and line control during casting and swinging improved.
  • SlickCast: Smooth lines have many advantages, such as less dirt on the surface and less wear. In short: longer casts - permanently! The latest generation of lines is equipped with Rio's exclusive SlickCast technology, providing an especially smooth coating that we fly fishers greatly appreciate.

S3/S5/S7 (Sink3/Sink5/Sink7): This 3D shooting head is suitable for fishing in fast and deep water. The perfect choice for your 'dredger' configuration and situations where your fly needs to get down very fast - and stay there. The first choice for winter fishing for steelhead.
