The shooting head systems from NEXTCAST are becoming increasingly popular. Especially among ambitious salmon and steelhead anglers, there has been a true hype surrounding the well-thought-out shooting heads in recent years. We too have come to love the customized, user-friendly tapers and are delighted each time by the fantastic casting properties they offer. In addition to the highly popular two-handed shooting heads and the matching tips and running lines, the extensive collection also includes very successful lines for modern streamer fishing for trout. We particularly appreciate that there is definitely the right line for every casting style and water condition in the Nextcast range.
Nextcast Nordic Shooting Heads:
The Nordic shooting heads are brand new to the Nextcast line-up. They are the successors to the extremely popular SalarFinder shooting heads, which were the benchmark for many salmon anglers when it comes to double-handed line systems for salmon and sea trout for many years. Especially the special taper design, the durability of the coating, and last but not least the incredible user-friendliness when casting and fishing made these lines so popular, and it is precisely these aspects that Nextcast has picked up to create a worthy successor.
The new Nordic shooting heads combine the best of both worlds of the SalarFinder40 and SalarFinder45 lines with some changes in taper design and coating composition. The length of the belly lies between these two predecessors and is thus a bit longer than the Zone heads - perfect for medium to large waters. The belly and back taper have been designed a bit thinner, allowing for an even cleaner, smoother presentation of the line and improving its sinking properties, especially in stronger currents. The coating composition has been refined, making the TPU coating a bit softer and gentler without sacrificing durability. It is the most delicate, smoothes, and stable salmon line Nextcast has ever developed!
The Nordic lines are also available in a variety of sink rates thanks to the multidensity approach, covering a very wide range of applications. The taper of the shooting heads has been developed especially for effective casts and clean presentations over medium to long distances. The weight in the line is distributed in such a way that high line speeds can be achieved with little effort, resulting in tighter loops and more efficient, energy-saving casts. So whether it's the start of the season with high water and cold temperatures or in midsummer with long, fine leaders in extremely delicate conditions, the new Nordic line-up is sure to have the right line for your area of use and your two-handed rod. Additionally, Nextcast also offers the choice between a flexible multi-tip system (2D + sink tip) or, thanks to the single-piece line, a seamless 3D line without any loop connections. The Choice is Yours!
Nordic 3D - The universal "ready-to-go" single-piece shooting head
This one-piece 3D version is the integrated version of the shooting head. So the sink tip is already seamlessly integrated into the line. These 3D lines combine three graduated sinking rates and work directly "out of the box". So they do not need sink tips to function perfectly. The smoother transition between the sink rates provides an even cleaner casting feel, enables better energy transfer, and allows for more beautiful presentations. Furthermore, choosing the right casting weight is even easier because all the weight needed to load the rod perfectly is completely in the shooting head. With these 3D lines too, Nextcast made it particularly important to provide the right line for every conceivable situation. From full-floating to sink4/sink6/sink8, everything is covered: from brutal spring fishing with heavy sinkers in cold high water to fine, delicate summer fishing with long leaders. Just attach a leader and off you go!
