The Octopus is a very effective wet fly created by Davie McPhail. The brownish pattern features a yellow tag and imitates bigger mayflies. You can use this pattern on both streams and lakes and can be sure that Trout and Grayling will be attracted. Due to its hackle made from deer hair this fly has a nice movement in the current. Originally it was fished on the big lakes in Ireland, on a floating or intermediate line. A killer when pulled through the waves!
