adh-fishing Sea Trout Fly - Special Borstenwurm by Johannes Radtke

We have searched our own fly boxes for the best patterns and put together an exclusive collection of our absolute favorite flies for you. Among our adh-fishing flies you will find catchy dry flies, nymphs and streamers that we have trusted 100% for years. Our adh-fishing flies are made with ultra-sharp quality hooks and selected tying materials. Exactly the way we tie and fish them ourselves!

The time around the second or third full moon of the year is a very exciting one and belongs entirely to the bristle worms in the Baltic Sea. On the wedding night, these long worms are in huge numbers if you are in the right place. In this time leads, no other fly is as effective as the Special Borstenwurm imitation. The sea trout fully commit to the easy to get food and take it without thinking. We use this as a great advantage and prefer to fish one of these flies in long, slow drags. But the fly is not only a real weapon during the mating season, even weeks after the full moon the fly still catches excellent. In addition, the fly was tied with an ingenious tying method, so the tail of the fly has an antitangle function.

  • It's a simple yet incredibly effective imitation of a sandworm.
"At the beginning of my sea trout fishing career, I tinkered with the multi-part worm imitations that I knew from books and magazines. Quickly, I was completely annoyed by these things: difficult to cast, difficult to tie, difficult to untangle, and overall just too cumbersome. After a few attempts with dark, large Woolly Buggers, it was clear that the two-part design with a hook at the fly's end was totally unnecessary. I optimized my worm fly over two or three seasons, and now I have an optimal pattern for me. Despite the amount of material, it casts very well, even with a 4-weight line, it is very durable, and it catches every worm-eating trout. At least that's the impression I've always gotten when I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I usually retrieve worm flies in long, slow pulls. Occasionally, particularly greedy fish only grab the tail of the fly. However, if you slowly pull it out of the mouth of such a lazy fish, it doesn't hesitate for long and usually strikes immediately. The Special Bristleworm is tied on a long-shanked size 6 hook. In combination with the long tail of fine marabou, the fly closely resembles a real sandworm, especially in the water – and that's what matters!"
