• Fishing on the surface is probably the most exciting way to fish for sea trout. The so-called furrowing on the surface triggers the hunting instinct in sea trout and leads to spectacular bites! However, with the adh-fishing sea trout fly - Gurgler, it can also be extremely effective to leave the fly on the surface and move it only occasionally. The Gurgler is a fly that has a foam back and thus drifts permanently on the surface. The high quality body hackle and tail of the fly provide a perfect silhouette against the sky. During the day we prefer the gray varaiante, while you can fish the black Gurgler around the clock.
• For Johannes, the standard pattern for fishing on the surface in the darkness:"With no pattern have I caught more fish at night. If I could only bring one night fly to the coast, then surely it would be this black gurgler. With a pair of scissors, I can trim the foam back to a small shield if needed or remove the foam entirely. This allows me to achieve a variety of swimming positions with just one fly. Combined with different retrieves, it enables me to imitate a wide range of prey. It's fitting that the pattern is tied on a size 6 hook. This allows the silhouette of the fly to resemble a floating shrimp, a worm, or a small fish. This gurgler has often been taken well when the trout have targeted one of these prey items at night. In any case, with this pattern, you have a night fly in your box that has the potential to provide memorable moments under the starry sky. The retrieve is and remains crucial – especially at night! The range can vary from standing still to a brisk, continuous retrieve. And that's a good thing: the one who holds the line contributes the most to the catch."
