The patterns in the Competition Series have been tested thousands of times in international competitions and come straight from the fly boxes of some of the most successful competition anglers. Perdigon nymphs originated in Spain and quickly established themselves in the international competition scene – and for good reason! These specialized patterns feature a slim, tapered silhouette, often coated with a lacquered body. Combined with a high-quality tungsten bead, this ensures that the nymph sinks rapidly into the strike zone and can be effectively fished even in strong currents – despite its small size. This is a major advantage, especially when targeting wary and selective trout and grayling! Another hallmark of Perdigon nymphs is the delicate tail made from Coq de Leon, making them a great imitation of small to medium-sized mayflies, which are found in almost every river and stream.
