"Euro Nymphing" has become a very popular term amongs fly fishers all across the globe during the last couple of years. At the same time as these different tight line nymphing techniques (e.g. Czech Nymphing, French Nymphing, Spanish Nymphing etc.) evolved, new flies and new interpretations of classic nymph patterns arose too. Due to new tying materials like jig hooks and tungsten beads it is finally possible to present small flies in fast current to Trout and Grayling feeding close to the bottom. A big advantage on many rivers! The company Guideline has recognized this and offers a range of high-quality flies.
A modern variation by Kieron Jenkins of the classic Hare's Ear nymph. Tied with a slim body made from natural hare's ear dubbing, a Coq de Leon tail and a ice dubbing thorax. Due to the hot red ribbing this tactical nymph attracts grayling and brown trout at the same time. Thanks to a tungsten bead it works great in fast running waters and when fish take nymphs close to the river bottom. The, barbless jig hook is ideal to release the fish.
Tipp: These nymphs are fished the most effective with long (10 ft. or 11 ft.) and sensitive fly rods (#2 or #3) and thin leaders.
