High quality nymphs by Fulling Mill from England - designed by well known fly tiers.
A few years ago so called 'Perdigon Nymphs' were mainly used by competition fly fishermen from Spain. Nowadays they can be found in nymph boxes all over Europe. Their main characteristics are a fine tail made from Coq de Leon, a natural and varnished Quill body and a black thorax. Due to their slim silhouette they reach the bottom very fast, but are aditionally weighted with tungsten beads. As a result of the special way of tying smaller hooks can be used, which is a big plus when fishing for selective and educated trout and grayling.
This variation by Fulling Mill is one of our favorites and a must-have for everyone targeting big, picky fish! It features a flachback and an red tag. The SR Spanish Bullet French is tied on a barbless Jig size #14 and has a 3mm silver Tungsten bead.
Nymphs like these are fished most effectively with Euro Nymphing techniques using long, thin leaders and non-floating sighters or spiral indicators (e.g. by Soldarini).
