The CDC Midge Emerger is an all-around emerger, but this fly best imitates a hatching midge. The bright, shimmering colors of the body may seem a bit overdone at first look, but this fly was specifically designed for the hours with too little light, just when the mosquitoes are most active. In the already darker part of the day, this emerger still returns a small glow and helps the trout or grayling quickly locate the hatching midge.
